Before we can continue I need to get angle iron to bridge the opening. Lowes and Home Depot only had 1/8″ thick angle iron. I needed something stronger. I found 1-1/2 in. x 48 in. Solid Steel Angle, 1/4 in. Plain Steel (Blue), 215491 at Tractor Supply. So we made a quick trip to Tractor Supply and bought two. I am very happy with the strength of these and they held the weight of the bricks with no problem. We finished the fourth layer today after placing the angle iron.
